Save Our Stages Fest aims to preserve U.S. independent venues

The day will come when it’s safe for musicians to perform in front of fans at now-shuttered bars, clubs and theaters, but until then, every effort needs to be made to preserve America’s independent venue infrastructure.
With that in mind, YouTube Music and the National Independent Venue Association have joined forces for the livestreamed Save Our Stages Fest from Oct. 16-18, with such artists as Foo Fighters, Reba McEntire, Black Pumas and Miley Cyrus performing from the Troubadour, the Ryman Auditorium, Whiskey a Go Go, Tipitina’s and elsewhere.
“The smaller music venues and the ones that are really struggling are not only culturally important, they are emotionally important,” Foo Fighters leader Dave Grohl said in a statement.
Presenter Bud Light Seltzer will donate $1 million to NIVA as part of #SOSFEST; fans can donate to the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund by clicking here.
